Field Trip Friday!

Last Friday we were lucky enough to be invited on a field trip with our adorable little first graders. We went to a Mausoleum, that we still don't know the name of. We didn't really talk much about it because what first graders really care to learn about things like that, right? And let's be honest, all we care about are the pictures anyways.
So this field trip for our kids was a big deal, actually. They had a very important ceremony that all the first graders from the entire school attended, and many parents and other teachers were there. Every kid at school 2nd grade and up wears these red scarves every day. We never really noticed that our first graders didn't. But this ceremony was them receiving their red scarf. It represents them becoming the new 'pioneers' of their generation. The fourth graders walked in and tied it for them, and it was a really cool thing to watch. Their Chinese teacher, Lilly, told me she even remembers when she was 8 years old and received her red scarf. It was really special that they invited us and I loved being there!
After the ceremony, we walked around the park, and then had lunch and played games with our kids! It was a great day, and we loved not having to teach or discipline them and just getting to hangout with them!(:
