Vacation Stop 2: Guilin

So when we first got to Guilin we weren't feeling that great. We all kind of took turns being sick. So we didn't do as much as we could have, but it was okay because there wasn't a ton to do in Guilin, and it was very relaxing. We went and got massages one day, we found a nice little cafe that served the best pizzas and smoothies (we ate there at least 3 nights, lol), and we got our feet eaten by fish!

Dacai Hill
We just went on a short little hike up a mountain in the middle of the city one day and took some cool pictures. Guilin was so cool because the city is just built around the mountains. It was a gorgeous view!

The Reed Flute Caves
Oh boy... The Reed Flute Caves were... such an adventure... hahaha. Seriously not worth it at all. But we're bound to do a few things that turn out lame, right? The pictures turn out amazing and they look super cool. So if you don't want the pretty pictures ruined then don't continue reading. It's literally just a cave, and they have artificial lighting everywhere. Lame. And they took us on an hour+ tour, and every little stalactite or stalagmite they would point to and tell us it was a snowman or a lion or something strange, and they insisted we had to use our imagination. Well. We really had to use our imagination to see any of that. haha. At least at the end we got to pay 5 extra Yuan and got to go pet turtles! (We think they were alive. We hope so. lol)

Longji Rice Terraces
The rice terraces, even though we went in Winter when they were basically dead... were still gorgeous and amazing to see. One more thing to cross off my bucket list! We took the cable cars up to the top and then decided to hike down. There was a little tiny village that we walked through on our hike down, that was amazing. It's so cool to see how simple these people live, still among one of the most touristy locations in China. If I could go back to China one day I'd want to come here and see them in the summer!
